Intro for a Techno Set
Hybrid musicMoritz is a Techno DJ. I composed this piece for one of his DJ sets in September 2023 at an outdoor festival. And as the final gig for that evening, he wanted to close the event in a special way.
I decided to shape the piece in a more epic sound like you find in movie trailers or aftermovies. So with a piano, strings sections, low synths and big drums, it became a remarkable introduction to his set.
The melody and harmony is simple, uplifting and pathetic. The impacts of the drums and synths are huge (especially on a big sound system). And it finishes with an interesting sounding chord progression that leads superbly into the techno mix.
I was also present at the festival where he was about to perform. The sun was shining, the crowd engaged – couldn't have been better. And when he pressed play, a unique atmosphere emerged.
People cheered after the intro – worth mentioning, the official version comes with an AI generated female vocal that supports the track's mood with inspiring and motivating phrases I wrote. And that was just the beginning of an enthralling two hour progressive techno set.

Piano musicGottfried Sumser is a spiritual teacher with thousands listening to his daily podcast (>10 Mio. plays in total on YouTube alone). His work is primarily based on the book “A Course in Miracles”, which is also the core of his seminars.
On YouTube, he runs one of the most popular channels on this topic in Germany. He consequently uploads a new video for his viewers every single morning. And that's what he needed some music for.
The music’s job in this case is to create a gentle ending of his daily episode and to give the listener space to hold on for a few moments and linger in the relieving mood for a while longer.
To me, this piece expresses a feeling of having arrived. That everything is totally fine as it is right now. That we carry all necessary answers already deep inside of us. That we truly have the potential to free our minds from unconscious thoughts.
The composition, the melody is kept pretty simple. And of course that’s on purpose. Easily digestible music. Slow rhythm, calm melody. Exactly what it needs.
The feedback by the listeners to the music is consistently positive. One woman even stated that she would like this piece to be played at her funeral one day – perhaps the most special indirect compliment I ever got.

2nd placeThe Beatmaker Contest was part of a funding project for Wuppertal, my neighbour city. It combined the local orchestra Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal, the dancing school Urban Art Complex and the radio station Radio Wuppertal.
They provided us participants with lots of short recordings played by different members of the orchestra. And my approach was to give each instrument a voice: violin, cello, trumpet, harp, etc.
In the end, it appeared more like a medley of a handful of different tracks which made my submission so interesting for the jury. One of the judges also stated he was even deeply touched by the music – in fact it's quite dramatic and pathetic at some points.
All in all, it was a nice evening at the opera house where the competition took place. I'm content to have taken second place, especially given it was an unfamiliar genre for me that I've rarely produced in the past.

How you & I work together
FAQ – Any questions?
It depends. The kind of your project and needed length and style of the piece are the decisive factors. Just leave a message via email or form below and tell me about your project, so I can make you an offer.
You get the lifelong exclusive right to use the music. One fixed price, no further costs in the future.
You’re not allowed to publish the music itself or resell the license to use the piece of music. Besides that, you can use the music for any kind of content, may it be a video, a commercial, a movie, etc.
These days, there’s lots of free music out there. So why not use this instead of commissioning a piece?
Well, if you once searched for free music, you may noticed it can take hours to find the perfect tune – sometimes it doesn’t sound professional, not that special, or it simply doesn’t fit the project at all.
Moreover, you can never be sure if the artist one day prohibits the use of his or her music, which even happened on renowned platforms in the past. Not very ideal if you have already published content containing that specific track.
So when I make music for you, you don’t have to worry about any of that.
